Lonely Planet has just released their Best in Europe list, and nothing makes us happier than seeing some of our favourite places make the cut. Here are the top three spots from the list - and how you can get there on a tailor-made, luxury holiday with Wexas.

This southern region of Greece is often overlooked, and it's a shame - the pace of life here is slow even by laid-back Greek standards, and afternoons can be spend lingering over an ouzo in the sunshine or ambling through archaeological sites that put you straight into the heart of Greek mythology - this is the home of Corinth, Sparta and plenty of other destinations you'll recall from legend. Get there on a relaxing cruise through Athens, the Dalmatian Coast and Venice.

Venice, Italy
Venice, the floating city, is made up of scenic canals just begging to be photographed.
Speaking of Venice, it's the 500th anniversary of the Venetian ghetto. That's the central island that sits at the heart of the city, and for years preserved Jewish culture in this otherwise very Catholic region.
