This seven-day tailor-made holiday sees you cruise to the Lofoten Islands on a Hurtigruten ship, spend a magical night at a Northern Lights Camp beside Norway's oldest fishing village, and then continue on to Tromso, Norway's former Arctic capital.

Trondheim
Arrive in Trondheim and check in to the Scandic Nidelven Hotel, winner of 'Best Breakfast in Norway' for seven consecutive years.

Hurtigruten cruise
Be sure to leave time after your award-winning breakfast to visit some of Trondheim's many historic sites, like Nidaros Cathedral, the world's northernmost Gothic cathedral, and Erkebispegården, home to Norway's Crown Jewels. Be at the harbour by midday to board your Hurtigruten cruise ship. Settle in to your cabin (ask your specialist about upgrade options) and set sail for the Arctic.

3
Lofoten Islands
Today your ship will cross the Arctic Circle, a moment marked by a baptism on deck. Depending on weather and ice conditions, you may also get to venture into some of Norway's narrow fjords on your way to the Lofoten Islands. Once docked at the village of Svolvaer, you'll transfer to Svinoya, home to approximately 30 authentic and traditional fishermen's cabins. Check in at Svinoya Rorbuer, a collection of rorbu (traditional, red-painted fishermen's cabins) at the end of the fjord and enjoy an evening in this charming village, while you search for the Northern Lights.

Hurtigruten cruise
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast, leaving the rest of the day free for you to soak up the scenery before returning to the ship in the evening and setting sail for Tromso.

Tromso
Arrive in Tromso in the early afternoon and check in for two nights at the Scandic Ishavshotel, which stretches out over the Tromso Strait. Tromso offers a wealth of optional winter excursions from Northern Lights hunts to snowmobiling and husky safaris.
