Launching in July 2023, they aim to restore the balance between adventure and relaxation with a focus on wellbeing and wellness on board, while slowing down the journey, giving you ample time to explore each destination in detail. Inspired by rich European heritage, Explora Journeys aims to create a refined and effortless experience, taking elements from only the most luxurious hotels, spas and restaurants in Europe for use on their two new ships – EXPLORA I and EXPLORA II. On board, you’ll find a seamless combination of boutique-style suites with modern amenities focusing on a reconnection to the natural elements of each curated journey. Inviting spaces with elegantly designed interiors, natural tones, soothing accents and unique pieces adorn the halls and lounge areas throughout. While exploring the far corners of the globe, you’ll experience stunning landscapes, storied ports and ever-changing horizons without compromise, sailing between destinations in your ocean-front suite. Designed with refined elegance in mind, each suite, penthouse and residence offers floor-to-ceiling windows and private terraces – meaning you’ll never miss a moment at sea. Expect space, privacy and a welcome bottle of perfectly chilled champagne.

Ocean Penthouses offer a sumptuous retreat with ocean-front floor-to-ceiling windows and expansive terraces to unwind and relax. Each of the four penthouse types offers a distinctive private dining area for four and a large seating area that provides an inviting space for guests to entertain in their suite, as well as a calm, comfortable place to spend time and relax.

Spacious Ocean Residences offer effortlessly elegant spaces with separate living, dining and sleeping areas, a panoramic ocean-front terrace with a private outdoor whirlpool, a dining table and sun loungers. All Ocean Residences are served by a dedicated team of Residence Hosts providing bespoke butler services 24 hours a day.

Explora’s all-inclusive dining experience* will be tailored and sophisticated, bringing with it a dash of soul and personality. With 6 restaurants on board, you’ll discover myriad options from Sakura's pan-Asian cuisine to the Marble & Co Grill steakhouse to the fresh Mediterranean flavours of the Med Yacht Club you'll savour fresh, seasonal ingredients sourced from local partners and drawing on regional influences and healthy choices.

And for that special occasion, Anthology restaurant will showcase the talents of some of the world's most celebrated guests chefs, with three-Micheln starred chef Mauro Uliassi creating an exceptional 8 course tasting menu for EXPLORA I's inaugural cruises. 

Alongside the restaurants, you’ll also find a coffee lounge, poolside dining, culinary school and in-suite dining available on all journeys.

Aside from the suites and restaurants, indoor and outdoor lounge areas will offer a sanctuary to relax and reflect on the adventures of the day. And, with included fine wines and premium spirits throughout, guests will be able to enjoy wines from the world’s renowned vineyards, sip on an aged Scotch whiskey or enjoy a refreshing gin and tonic out on deck, without having to worry about the bar bill. During each journey, guests will enjoy plenty of free time at sea to rejuvenate body and mind. Indeed, with a focus on health and wellbeing, each ship will offer a state-of-the-art fitness centre with tailored programmes as well as bespoke wellness experiences at each destination. That’s alongside a panoramic running track and the option of group classes so you don’t have to go it alone. For those looking to relax and unwind, there will also be a choice of refreshing pools on board, including one with a retractable roof, so you can enjoy a swim no matter the weather. And, each ship will have a generous indoor and outdoor holistic centre complete with specialised treatments and thermal pools.

Steinway & Sons fine handcrafted grand pianos have set the standard since 1853 and are the choice of many leading pianists. 

Starting with EXPLORA I’s maiden journey, acclaimed and up-and-coming pianists recognised for their virtuosity will enthral guests with live performances that reflect the regions through which the ship will sail.  Furthermore, three Steinway Spirio high resolution player pianos will be onboard each of Explora Journeys ships. In addition to being played live by performing artists, the amazing Spirio technology will allows guests to enjoy recitals by iconic pianists at the world’s great concert halls. 

Sustainability

With new ships and a new philosophy, Explora Journeys strives to create a sustainable and environmentally friendly experience both on board and during port visits, from ancient heritage sites to delicate marine habitats. With no single-use plastics on board and ships that will use a combination of hybrid-ready energy, waste management, water treatment, energy-saving systems and smart technology, they’ll set new environmental standards for the wider cruise industry. All that alongside carefully selected partner programmes to further enhance in-port sustainability and environmental awareness. Explora Journeys' passion for and commitment to the oceans is most clearly illustrated by the appointment of Dr. Sylvia Earle, the world-renowned oceanographer, explorer, and conservationist, to be Godmother to EXPLORA I.
